Raise Caving—A Hybrid Mining Method Addressing Current Deep Cave Mining Challenges

چکیده

Abstract Cave mining progresses to depths exceeding 1000 m and ore bodies situated in competent strong rock masses are nowadays extracted by different cave methods. Widely applied caving methods massive deposits block panel caving, inclined sublevel caving. All have common that mass caves during extraction of an body a controlled way. As result, regional stress changes occur, considerable abutment stresses form, large-scale subsidence significant seismic energy releases occur. Experience shows these mechanics effects become especially critical at great depths, where primary magnitudes reach exceed strength, as well masses, which require large footprints enable continuous The presented raise method addresses previously mentioned issues. Initially, de-stressing slots developed from raises with minimum amount pre-development. Substantial pillars separate neighboring order control seismicity near slots. provide shadow for production infrastructure so mineral can take place de-stressed ground. progresses, hanging wall is allowed cave. Results pre-study conducted together LKAB highlighted advantages mechanics, safety, cost point view.

Mining Spatio-Temporal Datasets: Relevance, Challenges and Current Research Directions

Spatio-temporal data usually records the states over time of an object, an event or a position in space. Spatio-temporal data can be found in several application fields, such as traffic management, environment monitoring, weather forecast, etc. In the past, huge effort was devoted to spatial data representation and manipulation with particular focus on its visualisation. More recently, the inte...

Sequential Pattern Mining : Survey and Current Research Challenges

185 Abstract— The concept of sequence Data Mining was first introduced by Rakesh Agrawal and Ramakrishnan Srikant in the year 1995. The problem was first introduced in the context of market analysis. It aimed to retrieve frequent patterns in the sequences of products purchased by customers through time ordered transactions. Later on its application was extended to complex applications like tele...

Process Mining for Clinical Workflows: Challenges and Current Limitations

Process mining is an emerging technology in the context of Business Process Management with the goal to derive process models from observed system behavior. The global goals are: to detect previously unknown process structures, to implement consistent process controlling which may involve computation of realistic cycle times and frequency of occurrence of process pathways, or to quantify the co...

Deep Web Data Mining

World Wide Web (WWW) is broadly divided into two categories: one is Surface web that contains 1% of information content of the web and is crawlable by traditional search engines (like Google, Alta vista etc.) and second is deep web( or Hidden Web) that contains 99% of information content of the web. Most of this information is contained in the databases and is not indexed by search engines. As ...

Deep Web Content Mining

The rapid expansion of the web is causing the constant growth of information, leading to several problems such as increased difficulty of extracting potentially useful knowledge. Web content mining confronts this problem gathering explicit information from different web sites for its access and knowledge discovery. Query interfaces of web databases share common building blocks. After extracting...
